A Rapid Modular Expansion for One of Asia’s Leading Airport Hotels

The brief

The Crowne Plaza Changi extension marks a major milestone in Singapore’s modular construction history, becoming the first large-scale PPVC steel module development in the country. This hotel expansion integrated design coordination, industrialised fabrication, and precision offsite assembly.

A total of 252 modules were manufactured and installed in just 26 days, demonstrating the speed and consistency achievable through advanced volumetric technology. The project allowed the hotel to expand capacity while maintaining uninterrupted operations.

This case illustrates how modular construction can successfully deliver high-performance, high-rise hospitality projects in challenging, constrained sites such as airport precincts.
